It has come to our attention that there has been misinformation spread that we are making adult mosquito applications with an aircraft. The Jackson County Vector Control District has not made any applications with an aircraft and we have no plans to do so in the future. All adult mosquito control applications are made with ground based equipment, including truck and ATV mounted ULV (ultra-low volume) machines.
Residents may sign up to be placed on the no spray list and no adult mosquito control applications will be made within three hundred feet of their property unless mosquito borne disease is documented in their area. In the event of documented mosquito borne disease in their area they will be notified before adult mosquito control applications take place. This request is good till December 31st of this year and will need to be resubmitted at the start of each calendar year.
