Jackson County Vector Control District will be participating in the Jackson & Josephine Health Fair on Saturday, April 18th, 2026, at The Expo in Central Point. This free, family‑friendly community event brings together local health partners, wellness resources, and hands‑on activities to support a healthier Southern Oregon.
At our booth, community members can learn about:
• Ticks found in Jackson County, including the western blacklegged tick
• How our district conducts tick surveillance in Jackson County
• How Lyme disease is transmitted and what our tick surveillance data tells us
• Where ticks are most commonly encountered in our region
• Simple steps to prevent tick bites while enjoying the outdoors
• How to submit ticks for identification and when to contact JCVCD
We’ll also have educational materials, prevention tips, and staff available to answer questions about tick safety as we head into peak season.
