Public Meeting Notice:

Reporting Dead Birds for Bird Flu

    April 9, 2025 by JCVCD

Protect Oregon’s Birds: Reporting Sick or Dead Birds

Avian influenza, or bird flu, is a serious threat to our feathered friends in both wild and domestic bird populations. Oregon needs your help to keep our birds healthy and prevent the spread of this disease. If you find a sick or dead bird, don’t touch itβ€”report it!

    πŸ’‘ How to Report:

    • Domestic Birds:
      πŸ“§ Email: AHHotline@oda.oregon.gov
      πŸ“ž Call: 503-986-4711 (Alt: 1-800-347-7028)
βœ‰οΈ Mail: 635 Capitol St NE, Salem, OR 97301
    • Wild Birds:
πŸ“ž Call: 1-866-968-2600 or reach Chris at ODFW at 541-826-8774.

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) is actively tracking suspicious wildlife cases, including dead birds, to ensure early detection and response. Your reports are crucial for protecting both Oregon’s bird populations and public health.

🌐 Learn More: Get all the details about avian influenza prevention and updates on the official Oregon Department of Agriculture Avian Influenza page.

Together, we can make a difference. Share this post to spread the word and protect our birds!
